Default USB Powerport Installed Pics

Finally got around to getting this done. Some ask for some info and pics when I was finished. The Powerport and cables are from 3BRPowersports, their stuff is very good quality. I used the Panel Tapp along with a 12 inch cable for my Nuvi30 and a 12 inch cable for my Nexus4. These USB cables are not your typical USB cable, they are power cables, providing enough juice to put the Nuvi in navigation mode, and enough juice to use my Nexus as a GPS if needed. The power cable with the Panel Tapp is 6 foot long, I'm pretty good with a solder iron so I shortened it to fit a bit better, you could just roll up the extra cable if you wanted. I used the existing power accessory plug under the fairing for a 12 volt power source. I included a few pics of how I routed the power cable under the fairing. The perch mount is Kuryakyn, I choose it over Ram because it looks a little better when nothing is mounted on it. The cradle for the Nuvi is Ram, I also have a Kuryakyn cradle (made by Ram) for my Nexus, couldn't take a picture of it mounted up because I was using it to take the pictures. I like this setup, very easy to put on and off, No extra long cables or cords to tie up, and the USB Powerport has a waterproof cover so I don't have to be concerned with water damage. The USB cables also provide a water proof connection, just put a plastic sandwich bag over my Nuvi and who cares, let it rain I'm good to go.

I am using kuryakyns perch mount. I think the part number is 1672. The cradle for the GPS is made by ram. The kuryakyn mount works with just about any cradle.

Very nice install. From picture #2 , it looks like there is nothing at all behind the
Left side dummy door.

There isn't unless you have a CB or XM. That's where those modules go.

Nicely done! 3BRPowersports makes some very nice stuff. I ran one of their USB chargers on my Switchback. I may have to consider this one, I just wish it sat a little more flush.

I'm told the 2014 FLHTK has a cb built in. I wouldn't mind it not being there. I'll never use it, ****, I'll never use the intercomm or Bluetooth phone. That's a lot of storage space I could have.

The CB is standard on the FLHTK, but the head unit still requires you to have a CB module which sits behind that panel. Same with XM.
