I have a 2014 Ultra Limited - bike had about 6100 miles on it when I left Michigan for Sturgis last week.
I use my trip meter - A to help determine the available travel miles - usually gas every 125 - 150 miles. Use position 2 (B) to determine the total trip miles. So, when I get home from a trip, I can determine how far I went.
So, on the way back home, I pulled in for gas. When I gas up, I reset position 1. When I looked at the mileage reading, it said 9512. Suspecting I was on the incorrect setting, I changed to the other readings - and all three showed 9512 - which is the total miles on the bike.
I was able to hold position 1 down and it reset to "0" - so, no problem in tracking my gas miles. I am certain I can reset position 2 also - but since I am taking the bike in this week for a 10000 check, I want to leave the miles on position 2 to show him what I am talking about.

Any one else experience this.
Cycle,
Had a very similar issue recently with my UL - with only 4200 miles on it.
Dealer had to get with HD tech support to figure it out! It had to do with the fuel sensor. They replaced the part and all us good again. Hope this helps - Bill
I will let my dealer know tis might be the problem.
Mikeman54 - sorry to hear about the crash - whe/if the bike was repaired, how did the dealer fix this issue.
Riding the bike minus a saddlebag that got destroyed and alot of cosmetic damage, takes sometime to get all the painted parts and didn't want to be bikeless for however long it takes to get 41 parts. When all parts are in the speedo odometer will get looked at. When I seen the bike at the dealers the day after I noticed it had set everything the same but at that time it was the least of my worries.
If they reflash the ECM then you will lose any dyno tune or custom tune you have in the bike so beware. If you have a tuner I would make sure and back up the present map before going into the dealer just to be safe!

You do realize the odometer has a "miles remaining on gas" function?
Total miles
Trip 1
Trip 2
Range on fuel remaining. (displays an "R" next to the miles remaining)
