Default Any "Not Bought Here" Issues with Dealerships?

My local dealership (~30 minutes ride) doesn't have what I'm looking for (model, color, etc) where the shop in my neighboring state (~an hour drive) has a variety of models, colors, etc. I have been to both of these "full service" dealerships while window shopping and both have a nice over-all vibe. Yelp and Google reviews are mostly great for both, with the occasional complaint (service took to long, didn't do it the first time, no sales person approached me, too many sales people approached me...). IMHO, there isn't enough in the reviews to sway me to/from either shop.

From my location, I do have several to choose from, however, the closest being ~30 minutes would probably get most of my post-sale service and repair work.

If I purchase at the further shop, will the local shop honor any warranty work? The first oil change? Will I be given any less "priority" since I didn't buy from that particular shop? Do the guys in the service department even care?

Any input welcome,
-PH

Don't know. But friend of mine wanted a black Ultra his dealer didn't have one so the dealer checked around and found one and traded with other dealer and got it for him. They do that all the time. So check with your local first.

A motorcycle is a commodity, Purchase it where ever you like and have it serviced where ever you want. I purchased my 2011 Ultra out of state and have had both warranty and recall work done at a local dealer. I never had an issue.
