My girl is in Mansfield, so probably not too far from you. Suicide 6 is a great road to ride, but you have to avoid the crazies going in the opposite direction, and not get stuck behind the those doing 25mph in the same direction! It's a great ride out east, through Pomfret, Putnam and RI. We do it all the time.

Try riding in the Northwest Hills of CT. Roads not as crowded and many great food stops.

Suicide 6 is an easy ride, but suicidal. LOL.

Pomfret is an amazing area.

might get a chance to throw a set of shocks on the ride...then go for a little spin....extremely local however.

Anybody thinking about riding. Big rain overnight. A lot of melting. Then a flash freeze. I don't ride in the winter because of sand and salt but if the rain cleans the road and the Towns don't treat the roads, I might take her out.

The biggest problem is the liquid magnesium chloride that they put on the roads to supplement the rock salt. That stuff literally eats away metal. My bike will stay tucked away until all of that gets washed away in spring. I used to ride throughout the winter because the cold wasn't as big an issue as the snow and ice. But that liquid magnesium chloride is bad stuff.

as tempting as it is....I have 20 feet of mud to harden before I even think of riding...by that time the salt an **** are long gone.

So much for my big plans. Roads cleaned up but temps dropped to single digits. Now more snow on the way, which means more sand and salt. Spring can't get here soon enough.
