When I go to like placid in New York, I typically stay at the Hampton Inn, in Lake Placid at the south end of the lake. Right beside the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery which is really nice.

But I keep hearing about some other place to stay day just to the northwest that is supposed to be absolutely phenomenal. A bit pricey but still an absolutely phenomenal place to stay.

The only place I can come up with is a place called Whiteface Lodge.

Am I my missing something? Is there another place to the northwest of Lake Placid that is a phenomenal place to stay?

Maybe you are thinking of the Mirror Lake Inn? When I sent my parents on a trip to Lake Placid, I paid for them to stay there. They absolutely loved it! Beware of the chocolate chip cookies. My father couldn't stop talking about them.
Too hoity-toity for me since I like to camp.

Mirror Lake Inn.......wow!! Really nice but I do not think so. This place is supposed to be NW of Hampton Inn at the south end of the lake.

Mirror Lake Inn is directly north.

DO want to check out "them cookies". :-)

When we go up there, will go inside. I really like that WOOD open inside area a LOT!
