Default Hey PA riders, RT6

We plan on riding Rt 6 from NJ to Lake Erie, starting the last week in June. Anyone recommend any must see places or roads to ride? Also I heard since they are fracking gas in the area, places to stay are hard to find. Any locals want to chime in?

Route six is a very scenic road. highly recommend. The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania is a must see. Stop and have lunch at the Wellsboro Diner.

A place to stay is The Ox Yoke Inn in Galeton. It's owned by people who ride. They have a bar/restaurant there so you can have a few beers and walk back to your motel room.

I live in Hawley by Lake Wallenpaupack. Lots of great roads up through here depending on how far off 6 you want to get.

Wellsboro diner is so overrated. Looks cool on outside, old crabby waitresses and food is marginal.
Go see the Elk!
Message Geezer Glider. He is very knowledgeable about the area. I meet up with him every year in Wellsboro.

Hi Jim --- I replied to you in Road Trips. The OX Yoke is now closed & for sale. I agree with Bigwater Jim about the diner. It's over-rated & over-priced, but I guess ya gotta be able to say you were there once! Plus, it's within sight of The Sherwood Motel, so easy to walk to.

I am not a fan of the diner either but for lunch I like the Gas Light. We used to stay at the Sherwood. Nice place.
