I had a Ford straght six that ticked loud, high mileage. Put this QMI in it and it went away for ever, even after changing the oil. It was simaler to slick 50 but way better (more tiflon). I have not been able to find it after that. It was expensive like $50 a guart in the 90's. So I wouldn't shake a stick at something I know nothing about. One thing I do know is these big twins are wearing out as you drive them and anything that can slow that wear would be welcome to me. Maybe then I could see the 200,000 mark again. I've already done things to head in that direction.

In defense of those additives that still use PTFE, tests done on a Chevy 6 cylinder engine by the University of Utah Engineering Experiment Station found that after treatment with the PTFE additive the test engine's friction was reduced by 13.1 percent, the output horsepower increased from 5.3 percent to 8.1 percent, and fuel economy improved as well. Unfortunately, the same tests concluded that "There was a pressure drop across the oil filter resulting from possible clogging of small passageways." Oil analysis showed that iron contamination doubled after the treatment, indicating that engine wear increased (Rau).

I ALWAYS say do your research and don't repeat others.

funny!!
my cousin ran the highway service dept for houston. they did an experiment with new trucks, 1/2 on slick 50 and the other not and with the same maintenance schedule. results were that slick 50 did nothing, maintenance was the key. for grins and giggles, i tried it and called their tech line about using my frantz filter system, they said i had to remove the system for the treatment since it would filter the teflon out. really, how much heat does it take to make the stupid teflon stick to a frying pan, enough to destroy an engine!!!! slick 50 is a way side product now, though still sold, has nothing to prove it works.

I just became aware of the product and checked the reviews and there are many unhappy people who have paid for expensive repairs after using NMF. I would not use it.
