If you read the spec sheets for these two oils ( 705 and 707)there the same, across the board there the same.I'm not sure why one would cause top end clatter and the other does not.I think this maybe some marketing ploy like redlines heavy gear oil and there v-twin gear oil with shock proof, same oil.The only reason i,m responding to this topic is because i,m thinking of trying shaffers in the the engine.

Between 707 and 705 Schaeffers is one has zinc in it, or at least higher percentage of zinc. ZI use 705 in my 2017 sporty, and 2016 Tri Glide and the wifes 2016 Freewheeler. No noise and have nothing but great things to say about the 705 20W50 engine oil, the Primary case oil and the 75W140 Tranny oil. I love it that the infamous HD clunk is gone.
