Default Stripped Primary Drain Threads

I have been doing my own Service for years, this last year I have had some challenges -still riding -but took my bike in for its last 3 services. The talented and qualified H-D dealer stripped the threads in my Primary pan.
I watched a couple of YouTube, decided to fix it with a 1/2-20 TIME-SERT.
* removed the left floorboard and heal-shift
* removed the outer primary
* zip-tied the primary chain tensioner -removed bolts and removed the automatic tensioner
* used a second zip-time to keep the chain off the bottom of the primary
* drilled out the stripped drain hole
* beveled the new drain hole
* tapped the new drain hole
* (applied black 500° F silicone to the outer threads of the bushing)
* worked the threaded bushing into place
* reused the original gasket -still is perfect condition
* bolted the outer primary on -tightening in the recommended pattern
* allowed the silicone to set for 24 hours
* finger tightened the OEM drain plug
* filled the primary accordingly

Rode 18 miles -No Leaks -beautiful!!!

thanks for the help, nytryder

Why didn`t you take the bike back to the dealer and give then the chance to make it right?

I had a similar experience at a dealership service department 7 years ago and haven't returned. I discovered the independent Harley shop. I wouldn't go to a dealer even for minor warranty issues.
