Quart in 60 mile is something else, unless you rode without the cap. Which I am assuming you didn't.

I'd re-align oil pump, cause I don't know what else to do.

I don't use the umbrella rubber never a issue again. Motor breaths just fine without them.

I have done mods to my bike, rebuilt the engine, baisley spring. But I just don't know enough about not putting the umbrella back in. I have repalced it twice, cause I was in there. You are the first person, I ever heard talk about it. Are they in later models?

When I took my motor apart the umbrella was on the bottom of the scotch brite filter thing. I rebuilt motor & put it like it was saposed to be drove about a mile and dip stick blew out. Didn't realize till got back from 4 mile test. Lucky I found on the curb. So took covers off and put it back the way it was. 24,000 miles like that and breather hose going to the ground with no filter, all is good with no sign of dirt being pulled in.

They are just not needed.

Some bikes before TC had filters on breather hoses. No way I would just vetn an oil hose to atmosphere. Though if it went 24k I guess ok.

1st thoughts would be:
bad cap seal, over capacity in oil tank, kinked supply/return lines, too dense or dirty filter. From there it gets worse; breathers or the ultimate a bad piston or rings...
The later was the case for me, was on a road trip when it blew out in the middle of nowhere. Went back to find it taped it and had the wife rest her foot on it to keep. After a rest to cool things off I harvested a exhaust clamp to cinch the cap in place.
good luck with finding a cheap fix
