Default 02 softail oil change question

Hi, I am getting ready to do my first oil change on my deuse And have all the stuff, Looks like it should be easy but near as i can tell my oil drain plug is behind or underneath these 2 cylinders. I checked on line and saw a few vids and if the drain plug is behind these wont the used oil go everywhere making a real mess. I have a pic and thanks

The drain plug is in your picture. See that silver 5/8 bolt facing downwards recessed in a circular boss? The plug also has a 3/16 Allen head.... use the 5/8 socket though, right there on the right rear of the main frame, beside the rear shocks...

those 2 cylinders are the shocks

up between them is the drain for the gearbox, BUT in the pic I've circled the engine oil tank drain

Well that solved that problem and looks like clear sailing from here. The silver bolt looked like like the right one and there are a couple behind the shocks so is usually best to ask. Thanks for the help.

Some great help there, however your FSM answers all queries like this, along with how much oil and a whole lot more besides! Well worth getting one if you don't have one yet....
