It's not Wal-Mart oil - it's made by and sold by Mercury Marine - WalMart carries it. What was really the purpose of the initial post anyway?
Actually I worked at Mercury for 3.5 years. Their marine lubricants are top notch.

I worked for MerCruiser for 15 years. The last several years I worked in R&D. The engine oil was an average motor oil, and it wasn't 20-50. I think it was 10-30, but that was a long time ago now. I left in 2008, a while before the plant I worked in closed the doors. I do remember that the gear case oil was top notch. Couple of guys ran it in their tyranny.
In all of the times I thumbed through P&A catalogs, I don't ever remember seeing anything listed as a motorcycle oil. I'm not saying that it doesn't exist but it would be odd for an EOM that doesn't make motorcycles to brand a motorcycle oil.

word must be out. I did not see this post till after I started one. Was at Wally World yesterday and I could not believe it, Two days earlier they had 5 bottles of Quicksilver 20W50 v-twin on the shelf and now none. I did manage to get 1 5gallon bottle two days ago for an oil change I plan on doing in March. I have a feeling this oil is going to be the next best oil for Harleys.

Old habit from my shovel days I'll never change. Regular oil changes are cheap peace of mind to me.

I'm normally a run whatever is approved and as someone said it's thicker and quieter. I ran it in the transmission for about 50 miles and took it out. The shifting became stiff and I actually missed a couple of downshifts with it. Went to Redline Shockproof in the tranny but left the Merc stuff in the engine and primary until the next oil change.
