89 Ultra Oil Cap

89 Ultra Oil Cap
I have done quiet a bit of internet searching and either I am dumb or just can't find it but what is the oil cap on a 89 Ultra. In 2006 someone put an ultima 100 in the bike, the oil tank dipstick/temp gauge only seems to have one dot on it and I pass that at around 2 1/2 quarts. I just am not sure if the bike takes 3 or 4 quarts. In my mind I though what can it hurt to just fill the tank, being it is a separate tank below the seat, but then I have read some stuff that overfilling can allow it to bleed back thru a vent line. Any help would be great and thank you for looking.

My 98 ultra takes 4 quarts. Not sure if the ultima motor would make a difference, but I don't know.

Does your dip stick have more then one dot or mark on it? I am going to pull the seat and see if there is any other hoses or anything coming off the tank. If there isn't then I think I am going to put the 4th quart in it. Thank you for your response.

Mine has hash marks on it that say add/full at top and bottom. If you want i can take a pic of it with a rule or tape next to it so you can put some journal marks on yours. Mine is plastic with a metal cap.

That would be awesome. Also give me an over all of how long the dip stick is from the bottom of the cap if you would too. Thank you.

That looks like an aftermarket plug for a softail. This bike is an Electra glide ultra classic, correct? If so, I think that is the wrong plug altogether, put if it keeps the oil in it works. I will get you some pics and measurements tonight.
