Default 2006 Street Bob Drain Plugs

I am thinking about buying 3 new drain Plugs and painting them each a different color.

Engine oil drain - Red (P/N 60328-9B

Transmission drain - Yellow (P/N 60328-9B)

Primary drain - Blue (P/N 45893-99)

Every time I do an oil change I can't remember with plug goes to which. I have pictures that I have taken to guide the way. I think this would be an easier way to remember. I keep telling myself that when I do my next oil change I should just paint them then. But I am always in a hurry and don't want to wait for the paint to dry. This way I will have 2 sets that I can interchange when I change the oil.

Wish they made a kit like this one

Make sense or am I an idiot?

Red face

It doesn't do to service your bike in a hurry! Take your time and check your work with your FSM. If you paint your drain plugs how will you know what each colour means?!

I will make a chart and hang it on the wall.

Then just make a chart and you'll know which each plug is for. Why complicate the simplest of things by color coding?
Get the shop manual.

Well, it doesn`t make sense...

This is an oil change we are talking about, not rocket science...Pull the plugs, drain the lube, reinstall the plugs...

Note: your part number callout is incorrect, all 3 drain plugs are the same P/N: 60328-9B.

45893-99 is a pipe plug not intended to be removed, leave it alone.

How do you keep track of your valve stem caps so you don`t mix them up?

why don't you just take your Mrs's nail polish and paint a P, T, & O on the heads of the respective bolts?
