Mesh reusable oil filter truth
I found after installing one that there claim's of not needing a drain back is false. Saposed to pump up so guick not needed, but now I get a one second clatter at start do to all the oil draining back. I have to do a relocation of filter to make it upright, now that I'm into it this far.

a jpeg of the setup would explain a lot.
if your filter does not have it, and your pump uses a external feed hose to the inlet of the housing, you could install a ball check inline. the pump would push the ball off seat. you could try a free ball (check must be vertical so gravity checks the ball) first and if that doesn't do the trick, use a spring assisted one with around a 1>3# cracking pressure.
personally from commercial experience, they shorten engine life, centrifuge is the way to go.

Filter will be upside down before long. I got a relocation kit from jegs. It came yesterday, looks nice even though the inlet and outlet are big. Not using there hose, instead have stainless braided covered in black braid to try and match the ultra cooler lines. Everything will be black when done. Should have $140 in relocating. Need to make a bracket and I bought $30 seal kit for the ultra cooler adapter (comes with updated parts). Will post pics when done.

Well after alot of time and money trying to make a oil filter relocation, I sold it all to VW dune buggy guy. Filter and all . Couldn't screw the relocation on the ultra cooler adapter do to a shoulder. I like the idea of the filter but not going to deal with clatter at start up.
