I use mobile 1, 4t 10-40 racing in my primary. Never have any metal on drain plug, never a clutch slip. Been using this stuff for years in several different bikes with out any issues.

I saw Bel Ray transmission oil mentioned above and thought I would throw my two cents in. I did an ape hanger mod to my 2010 HD Road King Classic last year from Hill Country Cycles, TX. Included in the handle bar change out I upgraded to a new stainless, braided clutch cable. HCC included a bottle of the Bel Ray trani oil for the swap. What a huge difference it made to the performance and sound of the bike. Very smooth, very quite after the change. I probably would have never tried it otherwise but I’m a believer now.

I used Mobil 1 20W-50 V-Twin Fully Synthetic engine oil in my 2008 FLHR primary for over 48,000 miles (8 years) with no issues until I went with a Stage 2 up-grade. Then switched to Spectro Primary fluid. Now only use Spectro products in primary & transmission (6-speed Platinum 75W-140).

I've been using Mobil V-Twin 20-50 in my engine and primary for many years with no problems. Redline heavy shockproof in trans. My new tri-glide i stuck with F+ in the primary,, no real reason.

Just did clutch kit, ALTO Carbonite, lifetime warranty this kit included extra fiber plate and steel plate. Increased spring pressure adding Harley Police spring "pink dot" this spring provided 19% more pressure than stock "yellow dot". After many searches, reviews & testimonies selected Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in primary.
The primary runs quiet, cooler by 42 degrees ambient temperature (morning 76, late afternoon 93 degrees, shifting is smoother, can feel clutch grab 30% more, and finding Neutral is spot on every time.
Little over 500 miles 35% city traffic 65% country mountains tight turns and I'm very content. Will report back after 25k on clutch to give more accurate assessment.

2012 FLHR (Road King) Stage II Red Ember Sunglo/Merlo Sunglo, Original HD Chrome Laced Profile Aluminum Spoke Tubeless Rims, ABS, Cruise Control, Security Package, Saddlebag LED Spoiler lights, and array of nostalgic & performance accessories that enhances appearance & blood curdling performance.

The engineers say do not use High detergent in a non-filtered box. If you go the recommended maintenance schedule, you want the junk to settle to the nooks and crannies in the bottom.
Even Harley went back to the first choice to a non-detergent without EP additives for transmission and transmission.
Probably really does not matter unless you really plan on wearing it out with a whole lot of a bike being your main driver and not a hobby. Few due.

This in the primary. Used in motocross bikes for years. Safe for wet clutches.
