Anybody use this in their primary??????

I understand that Harley is discontinuing Formula +, so it's a moot point.

I have been using it for the last 4 years. No problems with it very happy. Before that I used Bel-ray primary fluid In my ironhorse for 5 years also very happy with the results. When I say happy with it I mean, when I open up the primary everything looks new. No signs of wear Clutch grabs well with nice friction zone...swifty

Uncle G: got any facts to support your understanding?

Readers of many of the bazillion oil threads on HDF will recognize Formula + as a very commonly used primary oil. I use Red Line primary oil but keep a bottle of F+ handy for if / when I run out of Red Line, which can be difficult to procure on short notice where I live. Some who, like me, prefer Red Line oils in general, find RL primary oil unsuitable so put F+ in their primaries instead. If HD is gonna quit offering F+ I'll lay in a few bottles for future needs, just in case.

Spectro
Yes, I use Spectro oils and I have been using them since the early 1980's. I run Spectro Platinum full synthetic oils in the engine, transmission and primary. My Harley dealer stocks it. The mechanics in the shop use it in their bikes. It is not cheap, for sure. Bike shifts flawlessly, no lifter noise. Spectro makes a great product. You can not go wrong with Spectro oil..

If so how do you like it?

Used Spectro for years in my motocross bikes. Great oil.
Plan to change Tranny in my Dyna from Redline to Spectro.

I have been wondering if/when HD might quit selling F+ now that they have the 'new' miracle fluid that costs twice as much. F+ worked just fine for a long time and still does--along with plenty of other oils, lol. I love it when mc brands come out with new oils and such. It isn't just HD. All of a sudden the once best is now junk and the new is always more expensive. Honda (back around 2k) came out with a new HP oil that bragged about having Moly on the label in big letters (gold colored bottle, too). Turned out that Moly was not too good for the wet clutch---oops. Several yrs ago I saw some still on local dealers shelf and they would have sold it too. Anyway, if they do dump the line it will probably be a while before it disappears, as they probably have a warehouse or two full of it. I wonder what the new 20's will have in them.
