Changing brands of oil
#11
Changing oil brands can actually be a good thing. You may find that the new oil works better or your particular engine than what you were using. Switching oils does not cause damage nor does it impair the engine but you may notice less or more noises and better or worse performance. If you notice that your bike is noisier or doesn't feel right with the new oil, change it to a different brand and see if another brand works better.

I don't believe changing oil brands in the engine will harm your engine. all motor oils produced to day are of high quality. but do agree with the higher zddp content for air cooled engines. The down side to higher zddp is carbine build up. The place you need find an oil that works and stick with it is in your primary. wet clutches do not like different oil types thrown at them.
