Do NOT follow this advise, the correct mixture as specified in the Harley manual is 1 part Mobil1, 1 part Amsoil and 1 part Astroglide.

Anything else will destroy your engine within a mile.

Pure Astroglide is recommended for small bore long stroke engines

It doesn't matter what forum you are on, guys are passionate about their oil. I have tried many brands and weights and without question, the V-Twin 20w-50 Mobil-1 oil is the oil to use in these air cooled engines. It holds up to the heat yet allows for a cold start. It doesn't break down like any of the other oils I have tested.

Let me guess... your joints are smooth with no arthritis but your tail pipe occasionally leaks oil?

540 ratblog confirm it for me the 20-50 fails at 75,855psi and the 15-50 @ 70,235

Castrol gtx was one of the higher ranked oils in 20-50, 96,514psi. He didn't rank VR1 in a 20-50 though which would be nice to see in his test.
