Default Fatboy Oil Change

Hey guys
&nbsp\\;
I just got an '03 Fatboy, and as it's my first Harley-Davidson, I'm a newbie.&nbsp\\; I decided today I'm going to change the oil with Amsoil 20w-50.&nbsp\\; The owners manual says only to drain the oil tank and change the filter, and you're done.&nbsp\\; However, I see two more drain plugs (allen head) that appear to be for the crankcase.&nbsp\\; Do I drain these as well?&nbsp\\; I know, I know, I need to get a service manual.&nbsp\\; Should I get a factory one, or does somebody like Clymer make a good one for the TC88 Fatboy? Or both?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks, Mark&nbsp\\;

Default RE: Fatboy Oil Change

You have 3 sumps on your bike. Engine, Trans, primary chaincase.
&nbsp\\;
You want to run the 20w50 in your engine and primary and get some Amsoil 75w90 or 75w110 SVG gear oil for your trans.
&nbsp\\;
Change the engine &amp\\; primary at 5000 miles or 1 year
Change the trans at 15,000 miles or 2 years
&nbsp\\;
You will like the amsoil very much.
&nbsp\\;
But do get a factory service manual. It will save you big $$ and show you the way to do everything. You can get on from Zanotti's HD on line or for about $60 at you dealer. Zanotti's is a few bucks cheaper.
