Synthetic Oil for 'Fatboy?

Synthetic Oil for 'Fatboy?
I recently had a new cam, cam bearing, etc. put on my bike due to a cam bearing and other problems. The Fatboy has 500 miles on it since the rebuild and needs an oil change. The wrench stated he uses only Castrol 20w-50 (automobile oil) in his bike because Harley recommended older EVO's to run on motorcycle oil but not synthetic. Can anyone share experiences they have had with running Synthetics in a mid-90's Fatboy?

Use it. Stands up better to heat, and maintains its viscosity longer. That 20w-50 Castrol car oil is probably 10w-30 after 1000 miles.

I run Mobil 1 in all my stuff (including the lawn mower, also). I've used Mobil 1 in all my bikes. My Buell used less oil and had less oil coming out of the vents (air cleaner).
