Went to oil test....Schaeffer's Oil blew them all away
#81
Hate to let this thread die...My local guy just suggested Schaeffers as a good oil. I NEVER heard of it and was surprised a guy who builds and tunes Harleys everyday would like something I have never heard of. He said they tested the heat difference with a heat measure gun and it did run cooler. So anyone decide to try this in past year and really like it? Amazon is $97 for case of 12...Decent price I would say. I change ever 2500 miles so It probably wont matter what I use. Just cant let this thread go away.

I've been using it in both bikes for 4 years. They're both still running great!

"I've been using oil A (B,C,D,E) in my car (bike) for *** years. It is still running great!"
Funny!
Most important thing to know about engine oil: Don't use vegetable oil!
Use latest letter available: SL SM SN(?)

WOW, realize this post is 8 years old and the FB has not been around for 4 years but something is new. They now say Diet soft drinks will fry your brain and kill you. So drink water. And put oil in the old Harley. The opinion of this could be that I have been drinking diet drinks for 50 years and putting car motor oil in the old 2004 RIPSAW for 13 years.

Star Racing, George Bryce, recommends Schaeffer over all other oils - sez his dyno
and temp gun don't lie. Prefers their 15w40 diesel in the primary fwiw. Good enough
for me and easy to get from amazon. Btw - sez K&N filter too.

I have an old Yamaha V-Twin XV 1100
for some reason it has an overheating issue and when it gets hot in the valves rattle I tried mobile one which broke down after less than a thousand miles of riding time.
then I changed to Amsoil, which you can buy off of the Shelf at Atwoods in Wichita Kansas. And it really wasn't any better, both oils were about $11 a quart
a friend of mine that works at Harley Davidson told me about Schaeffer, which by the way is hard to find the only place in Wichita you can buy it is at the Kenworth dealer. 7.50 a quart
so I tried the V twin 20-50 and the engine temperatures were about 60 to 80 degrees cooler.
4k mi oil change intervals now haven't had to adjust the valves in that old Yamaha for15,000 miles
now I run it and everything
broke a brand new big twin in on it personally myself I refuse to use any other kind of oil in anything anymore
