I do the Screaming eagle synthetic with filter every 5 grand, and the primary/tranny every 10 using Formula plus. It's easy to keep track with notes in the maintenance manual due to everything is in 5,000 mile increments. All my cars and trucks since the beginning of time is 5,000 miles for engine oil.

Annually if less than 3k a year
08 electra. I usiualy only put down about 2000-3000 a year. So I do engine oil filter and primary annually and trans every other year. I would go the full mileage on the trans but I use conventional oil so I worry about it sitting that long. Bottom line, it's your machine, do what you're comfortable with

Engine, oil and filter every 3,000 miles, the primary every other oil change, so every 6,000 miles. Running Redline in both.

Oil threads are always good for a laugh. Many myths. Keep in mind when the dealer is talking, he is there to sell oil too!
With synthetic and the V-Rod being air-cooled, I only change the oil before every winter storage. I may change the filter @ 5K, but even then, the oil (Amsoil) is still a golden color.

I do engine oil/filter, primary, and trans at the end of the season just before snow fall. I also do a mid season engine oil without filter change usually sometime in July. This bike sees about 4k a year.
