If you consider the 26 page white Paper on Motorcycle oils, put out by AMSOIL, a true comparison of all the Synthetic Motorcycle oils backed by ASTM test results and an Affidavit of authenticity valid, and I do. Then Lucas rates 12 out of 16 oils tested. Harley Syn 3 is rated 6 out of 16. You may view the White Paper by visiting www.amsoil.com. It is located on the right side of the page in yellow.

I agree with bear. Although Lucas likely isn't a "bad" oil, it is certainly far from the best. Lucas has spent a bazillion bucks over the past couple of years to promote their products. It's easy to find the name "Lucas" in mags, on mowers, huge signs at drag strips, even Dave Perez say's if "he builds it, Lucas goes in it" and so on. Lucas wants to compete with the big boys of oil, so they spend the bucks on marketing. Afterall, they know that if the general public percieves the product as quality, the public will buy and thats the name of the game.
One of my favorite commercials for oil is the one that shows golden horses stampeding across the screen in slow motion....it's a cool effect, but don't tell me much about the oil.

I have just change my motor oil and installed 20/50 lucas. I drove my bike about two miles and stop at a red lite and bike seemed to idle more quite. Then when i left lite it took off and seemed to have more power. Will keep you posted.
