Default oil blowing on oil tank

I have a 99 standard with the EVO motor. I have read that people have experienced oil blowing on their oil tank. After my ride yesterday, it was more than normal and the rear cyclinder had an exxcesive amount of oil running down it. what causes this and what is the fix.

Also, what is the normal operating oil temp on my bike. It usually is around 185 or so but yesterday it was around 200+. It was also 97 degrees outside as well, that may have something to do with it!!

Thanks

I have a 93 Softail that I picked up used, and I seem to have a higher than normal amount of oil coming out of the crankcase breathers too. Of course I'm not sure what a normal amount is...

I'd be interested in any feedback on this as well.

Had same problem with my 94. Check rocker box gaskets. Mine was coming down the back of the rear cylinder and then blowing on oil tank. Fairly eaxy fix. Change both when you do it.

Most likely it is your Rocker Box gasket leaking. Had the same problem on my '99 Fatboy. Twice! First time I had someone else fix it, then I tackled it the second time. It's a fairly easy fix. Time consuming, but not that difficult.

I have a 99 1200C and I have the oil on the oil tank problem also. Im going to buy the gasket kit for the rocker box but do I need to change the gaskets on the front rocker box if its not leaking? If so, why ?

Are you running a 5 micron TC oil filter? If so, switch back to the EVO filter. Many EVO's develop this when they switch to the TC filter.
