What type of oil do you use and why?

I am thinking about changing the oil I use, I currently use the Syn 3.

I would like to know what others are using and why.

Default Syn3 By Request

I went with synthetic at my first (1,000 mile) service and I wasn't quite sure that the bike ran as quiet as it used to so at 2,500 miles I did an oil change back to fossil. Not noticing any difference, at 5,000 miles I did the service changing back to synthetic. Fast forward to my 10,000 service, the dealer used the syn3 in all 3 holes. DEFINATELY NOTICABLE difference in the way the bike sounds and feels! It's much quieter than it has ever been (no ticking) and the clutch is much crisper than it had been. In the future I will be requesting the syn3.

Thanks for the input. This is why I offered the "Other" option, I did not even think about Mobil 1 as an option.

well my indy shop did a test

they have a chopper with a 130 in something in there that always ran hot

they tried all the different oils in it, syns and normal

when they switched it over to royal purple the temps dropped an extreme amount of degrees on the cylinder heads, so that was it - I will try to dig up my post about it

but operating temps are operating temps and this thing dropped a bunch with the RP in it.

Using syn3 in all three holes. Everything is running quieter, no issues at all.

Most of the other brands are not as accessible when on a trip. Pull into any HD Dealer and they have it on their shelf.
