My local Wal-Mart carries both the Valveoline and M1 M/C oil. The Valvoline is just under $7 and M1 just below $10!

I'm sure the Valvoline is just fine but I've been using Mobil for years so I'm not going to change now.

About to do my first oil changes that I've ever performed on my Road King and FatBoy. I'm gonna use Mobil 1 15w-30 in the crank case. (Mobil 1 75-90 gear lube in the tranny and Mobile 1 Racing 4T 10w-40 in the Primary.) After a lot of research it seems to be the most cost effective and great quality stuff.

Sheesh....unless you ride in very cold weather, 5w-30 is pretty thin oil. I think most guys run 20w-50. Anyways, good luck with your first change.

I believe he mentions he is going to use Mobil 1 15W-30 oil. Which in my opinion is still pretty low viscosity and doesn't sound like its motorcycle specific oil.
Cheers

He said 15-30 and as A1A said that's still waaaaaay too low. I use what's recommended syn 20-50 summer and 10-40 winter both motorcycle specific oils.

I meant 15w50 in the crank case. Which is absolutely fine to use there.

How hard is it to do an oil change? that's what I used to think, so the dealer I bought my new 2017 Ultra Limited from offered a discount on the first service at 1000 miles, so I went for it, fast forward to 5000 miles and now I can't get the oil filter off - they either over tightened it or didn't oil the gasket. I brought it back to them and bitched so they got it off (they didn't tell me how, but it took about an hour) and put the new one on and told me they didn't tighten it as much this time. I can hardly wait until the next oil change.
