What Brand Engine Oil do you use in your bike
#501
I think you can run any dino or syn 4 stroke oil you wish. It's not about the brand, it's about keeping it clean. 2000 to 2500 for dino, 5000 for syn and a fresh filter and everything should be fine. Last time I checked I didn't see an oil refinery as part of HD portfolio. Who bottles their oil?

It's so nice to see HD supporting their main consumers, the Americans and Canadians, by paying off shore. I realize they have to be competitive but don't ask for 100% support if you don't give 100% support. Please come buy our product and we'll spend your hard earned money in some third world hole in the wall. What happen to buy American, the job you save may be your own?

I have a 2006 Road Glide that I have installed Caliber Dual exhaust air filter Power Commader and had it dyno, I was wondering if I should put a oil cooler on or would this be a waste?

I ride a 76 FXE, and I've gotten a lot of answers to this question from a lot of other shovel riders, and it just confused me to no end. My book calls for 70w and that's what I use, don't care what brand. winter and summer, and I do ride all winter and have had no problems with hard starts even with the electric leg.

Some say oil coolers are a waste of money, but I say it depends on where and how you ride. If your engine sees a lot of high heat operation, i.e. hot weather, traffic, slow riding, etc., then an oil cooler is a worthwhile investment. Anything that helps the engine shed heat is a plus. Get one with a thermostat and it'll only be used when needed.

MY GAWD!! This subject would drive anyone crazy.
But here's my two cents worth: Lucas syn straight 50 in the motor 20-50 syn with a pt of stabliyser in the primary and 75-95 with a pt of stabliyser in the trans. Longer run time between change outs and quiet and cool.
It may all be BS in the long run but ya gotta sleep at night! For a few extra bucks, what the hell I say.
