What TRANS oil do you use?
#662
The whine noise is unlikely because of the Red Line oil. Do you use Heavy Shockproof?

I read everyone of these posts all 34 pages of them and came to the conclusion that this is why they make so many different oils and gear lubes.
We all like what we like and use what we use for our own reasons. I saw a lot of different oils in these posts but yet not what I use.
I see on the forum many guys swear by OEM Harley parts but when it comes to oil, gear lube wait a minute. I just change all my oils and the engine oil was a little brown but the primary and transmission the old oil and the oil I put back in looked the same color.

I just did the Mobil 1 V-Twin "in all 3 holes" scenario on my 2013 Wide Glide 103. I think it might shift slightly smoother, but overall no major differences. Finding neutral seems to be a little better now too, but it may be in my head. Absolutely no adverse reactions as of yet. Full synthetic gives me piece of mind and DIY is pretty cheap when buying it from Walmart.

Red line shock proof with over 15,000 miles and one season. It poured out looking like new. I believe this stuff could go 50,000 miles or five years in the trans. It sure is reassuring that my rebuild should last with red line.

Yup that it. We use what we use because we like it. NO wrong oil here. And where we might take the advice of another rider on almost anything else not on the oils we all use.
I swear by Klotz synthetic 20w50 V twin and Klotz synthetic gear lube 75w80,

I took out redline, and dumped in Lucas 75w90, big difference in shifting and the clunking. I run Lucas in all 3 holes, what using RP but didn't like it. Word has it that even 75w114 works even better for those in So. Cal. or in a hot area. twist and go!
