Same oil for crankcase and transmission?

Hello, i own a HD SPORTSTER XL1200L, 2006, and i want to change the oil, it s my first motorcycle and i really don t know exactly the correct oil for use in the crankcase and transmission ,primary ,, i bought formula plus oil, and i want to inow if i can use it for the crank case, transmission and primary? Or i have to get another one for crankcase?... Thanks

Formula+ is for the tranny/primary. One fill as they share the same fluid.
Formula+ is NOT for the engine!
One qt. (32 oz.)

20W50 (whatever brand you want) for the engine.
3 qts. plus a filter.

Best to buy a service manual as it sounds like you might be new and guessing.
Good luck and there are Youtube videos that will help you.

Your bike has two separate oil systems because they each use a different type of oil. An alternative to the service manual is the owners manual, which will answer that question. A dealer can supply either although the service manual is the most useful. You can download an owners manual on the H-D website - go to the Owners tab.

Before going any further also read the Stickies at the top of this Oil section.
