WA. Dot usually has the area passes open by the end of May and sometimes the first week of June depending on the snow pack. The 1st pic and sig pic are on Hwy 123 East of Paradise. The 3rd pic is out of the park on 410 East toward Yakima. These were taken a couple of years ago middle of June. I usually ride 410 from Enumclaw end in the morning for best Sunrise photos. Earlier in the summer is better for traffic. July and August better for weather. The scenery in Mt. Rainer is awesome.

Default Great Ride, Possible Traffic

All of that area - highway 12, 410, 123 - is great riding - stunning scenery, tight turns, curvy, lots to see, cut through the trees some places, big drop offs in others. I ride through that area at least twice a year coming from the Yakima end. The roads are generally good but watch careful. Highway 12 over White Pass, especially on the west side, can be rough. Watch the road surface but don't let it detour you from that area. Highway 123 around and through the park can have traffic, so be patient. Midweek is the best bet. Highway 410 going east to Yakima is probably the least traveled and definitely the best motorcycle road - great views, lots of curves, nice long straight stretches in the mountains. Put it this way - people in other parts of the country pay to come here to ride in scenery like that.

Stevens canyon generally has less traffic, and better pavement.
