Worlds worst question
So I finally have the 59 Panhead Duo Glide in my garage, and we are ready to list it for sale. The problem is....how the **** do I start it? I found the petcock points down for fuel, and it looks like the choke on full is all the way out. I saw some videos that show some prime kicking with the ignition off. I tried this, then turned the ignition dial all the way clockwise. The middle neutral light came on, and I tried to kick again, but this time I nearly died. As a man over 40, heart attacks can happen with little or no warning. This bike was warning me. Needless to say, she didn't start, and I cursed a lot while out of breath.

Here is how I started my 52.
1) choke closed no ignition, kick thru 2 times 2) advance all way forward, choke barely open 3) igintion on and kick it once. Mine would start then. Every panhead has its own system. good luck. |
