Greetings

I have a 58 pan, stock 74ci inch with Bendix carb
Mallory unilite ignition
Accel super coil 2.3 ohm

I was told that I need a 3 ohm coil for the Mallory.


Will this hurt to use a 2.3 ohm coil?, it makes kick starting easer with the
Extra spark boost

Has anyone else done this?

you could overheat the trigger and burn it out MAYBE - i would ask Mallory if the trigger can handle the difference in resistance that coil has

Note in function the coil difference in Output is almost nothing - a 2.3 or a 3.0 - its the end output that matters and yes the re coop speed is faster with less ohms but in the real world you cant feel, see, or notice any difference - been in a shop forever seen it all - jz
