Default Chewing gum on my denim paint fender removal?

So I was out riding my bike today and stopped to gas up when I got off I noticed a nice streak of some nasty chewing gum on top of the fender. I have the denim paint and am not wanting to damage it during removal of the gum. Does anyone have any suggestions? my wife said use rubbing alcohol but I am concerned it may damage the finish.

I could give it a try i would be concerned it would scratch the paint once the gum got hard.

First answer the best answer and place to start. Ice in a zip lock bag.

Plain old basic white vinegar is next. soak a cloth, hold it on the wad, let it soften.

Vegetable oil or WD-40, but then you have to clean it off the denim paint.

I would leave it. Adds character.

I will give the ice ago this afternoon and see if it works. I took the bike out yesterday and yes it does add character now that it is covered in road grime you can barely notice it. LOL The whole bike needs a good cleaning I do a lot of back road riding so it doesn't stay clean for long.

Peanut butter! Breaks down gum. Takes it out of HAIR, i'm sure it will come off the fender. People eat it, so it can't be bad for the finish.

Thanks for the suggestions I haven't done anything with but continued to ride and pieces of it come off every time I ride. I pick at it a little and a piece comes off, I will probably leave as is for now. The bike goes in for the first service this Saturday so see what it looks like after the wash.
