Question Powder coating a gas tank

Has anyone here ever powder coated a gas tank? I was looking through a local powder coater's price list and noticed gas tanks were not listed. I tried calling the guy but he's on vacation til the end of the month. Is it not possible to powder coat one ?

If the powder will stick, it can be coated. Make sure your guy has talent as once it is there, it's there. The stuff bbarn has pics of looks great, ship them to him. He clearly has some experience.

That red hammer coat tank and fender looks sick. Love it, great work. Your gloss tank looks slick also. Well done on both.

I sell powder coated pegs, grips and gas caps, but beware, gasoline, loctite, acetone, and a lot of other chemicals will mess up the finish, especially if gloss is used. Other than that it's tough as nails.

or can I leave the inside in it?!

At Kaisers81. The tank will have to be empty as the temperature will get up to high when curing. It might melt the wires for the fuel pump etc etc. I always put a clear coat on my tanks so thats at least 2 times in the oven. Hope this helps
