Default has anyone painted over the textured black parts?

I'm swapping some of the plain aluminum covers on my slim for black ones. I like the gloss black but got a good deal on some textured ones from a member on here.....has anyone sprayed a few light coats of gloss black over the textured covers? if so any pics would be great.

Sure you could..but I'm not sure you'd like the result. I've painted numerous textured automotive parts over the years, bumper caps, outside mirrors, door handles, etc, and the result is similar to shiny paint on a concrete block. The texture is magnified with the gloss on it.

Sand off as much of the texture as possible fill the rest with several coats of primer then paint.

Exactly.. that's where I was going with the reply but the battery in my laptop died.. That's the only way to achieve a decent result. Sand as much texture off as possible, then 2k primer, sand, repeat. Not sure what covers o.p. was referring to, but am hesitant to apply this much material build on parts that soak engine heat..usually the less mil thickness on engine/adjacent parts is best. Later, and LETS PAINT SOME $HIT!!

I won't be swapping the covers until Nov when my insurance drops to storage...I painted the covers just to add a little to them an I like the way they turned out...here's the rocker covers...the left is stock an the right I hit with a few light coats of hi temp satin finish.
