Quick Glo is good stuff, but never use the regular grit (they also have a fine grit) on chrome plated parts. Once you get through the clear coat and polish the aluminum I used a product called Alumaclear (designed for trucking industry) to restore a clear coat protectant. Works well on my fork lowers that were pitted. Let cure for 30 days before using soap and stay away from acid type cleaners.
