fixing the "ding"
while wrestling with my Sporty on the bike jack to get it inside for a handlebar project, I managed to "ding" the custom paint on my tank.
luckily it didn't get the pinstriping, but it DID bust my nads pretty hard too
removing the tank for the Z-bar install made it really convenient for a little touch up on the tank.
masked, sanded out, primered, and steel wooled thru the 1st primer-coat....no surprises and smooth sailing.
taken down with #00 steel wool and primer-coat #2 on it........will finish the prep in a few days when it's rock-hard, and lay down the 1st coat of touch up paint.
so far so good.......I used to do this for a living (+/- 35 yrs ago) so it'll all work out.....just going to take time and some low-temp baking before it's finished
