Default 2003 anniversary silver

hi just bought a 2003 road king classic about 3 month ago and already dented the front fender, i have bin having a hard time matching the ann. silver paint,and harley isn't giving it up ,dose anyone have a code? i bought Cycle Colors paint by total marketing concept and it dose not match at all ( color is off and to metallicy ).help ,tony

I had my painter match my color, harley wont give you the paint match, My Painter and i probaly went thru 100+ colors of silver to fine a perfect match. the only stock color left on my bike is the tank everything else was done by my paint guy, i can give you the code number i used don't remember it off the top of my head tho......

why wont HD give u the paint that sucks. I hate going to HD for anything these days. Bought my harley from a sportbike shop.

man i would lvoe that! i have to paint a fairing for my dad soon!
we had to do the same to color match for powder as well

Hi.... It's not so much the COLOR, but the technique. Harley lays down vivid black first, then a light (see thru) coating of their silver so you still have some shadowing and get the true color.

wow did not know that... weird cause we ahve stripped prob 4 sets of these tins and never seen a layering patter in the paint as we stripped... not saying your wrong by any means, where did you hear this?

I spent a lot of time at my local harley shop and there were some paint representatives from Milwaukee there talking about the paint and how "special" it was.

he"s right there is black underneath the silver. i stripped my fender and removed the very light coat of silver, and then a heavy coat of black...i was wondering if someone had found a formula with a two stage paint instead of a three stage that matched close .
