2010 Limited Black/Black Ice
Ok. I goofed up and my left saddlebag came off and was sliding down the highway behind me. I'm a dope.
So anyway the damage was not as extensive as I expected. Outside damage to the top edge of the lid (Vivid Black) and bottom edge of the bag (black Ice.) Plus the latch is damaged where it slid down the highway on it.
So looking at colors. My paint guy has Vivid Black from where he painted something else for me. However all my paperwork says "Black Ice" and everyone here is talking "Black Ice Pearl."
I have this a 922787 PPG code for Black Ice.
So I'm going to have to have the minor damage repaired, replace the latch, and paint the lid Vivid Black and the bag the two step process, Vivid Black the Black Ice.
I'm hearing the Black Ice paint is close to $300 then the paint charges + the latch.
So two questions.
1. Is that the correct code for Black Ice (Pearl) and
2. Would it be cheaper to order a bag?
Talking to my paint guy and will call my dealer in the morning.
Thanks.

Black Ice, like so many HD colors is very expensive. It is a chameleon type color, meaning it changes color depending on the viewing angle. These colors don't come cheap, I've seen some at close to $800 a pint. Your painter may be able to have it mixed in a smaller amount to save a little money, but usually the jobber won't mix less than a 1/2 pint. A 1/2 pint will be more than enough to do your bag.

Per my dealer Black Ice Pearl is now $116/qt. I can get Vivid Black though my painters PPG account but PPG doesn't think Black Ice exists as 922787 or period.
A friend has a left latch. He will send it to me. $0
Bought a vivid black take off lid for $120 on eBay.
My painter said if I could find a bag for $300-350 I'd be better off than having him repair it. By the time he fixed the damage, bought the paint and painted he'd be over $300.
A new Vivid Black/Black Ice Pearl left saddlebag from the dealer is $393.93. There is a set new on eBay for $450.
Seeing if I can find a dealer offers 20% off.
