Default Primary chain adjuster

Planning on having my wrench guy install a primary chain auto adjuster. Not sure if I should buy the part or have him order it just in case I have a part failure.

It is kind of a unwritten courtesy to have the shop that is doing the work order the part, they usually get a discount on the part so they make a little money on it. Bringing your own part in cuts them out of the profit and some shops don't take kindly to that.Right or wrong it has been this way for years and the internet is killing this portion of business. I for one have no problem letting shops make a little money on the parts because they will be there for you if something happens down the road. If your bikes breaks from a part that is ordered online do you think the online company will take a look at your bike for you?

I am all for supporting your local shop, I even go as far as buying tools from a small local hardware store and avoid HomeDepot & co. as the plague.

In this case the price difference between online and at the local shop will probably be around $10-20, too which I would say get it at your local shop. But or other parts the difference can easily run into the hundreds of $$$, at which point I will buy online and pay for the labour to get it installed. I don't mind paying the shop to do the oil change on my bike, but to pay over the top for parts is something that I cannot justify.

just my $.02
