Bandit primary oil options
 

I'm going to be running a bandit sportsman clutch. The lube options are spectro 80, belray 75 or 80, or atf. Which of these choices are going to be best for the compensator? I'm sure that atf will not be as easy on the comp as the other choices. I'm leaning toward bel ray 75w unless someone has a better recommendation

I would not run straight ATF unless you have a CompenSaver oiling tray installed with the new SE comp - can't remember for sure what you have... Either of the other two you mentioned I think would be fine.

Does Bandit put out any recommendations?

They also recommend 14oz of fill if memory serves.

One of the main reasons I didn't get there setup. It's a badass clutch from the reviews I hear and my father in law is running it on his pro mod and bagger. They just like a little splash and that's it.

Straight ATF works best in the bandit(worst fluid for our comps, unless you get the Baker setup) my choice would either be Spectro Golden 80(that be my pick) or HD Formula+(has great track record w/ the SE Comps.

They also say that there is about a 1,000 mile breakin, in which drag may occur.

I've run Bel Ray 80W in my primaries since 2000. Love the stuff.

I'm still running my stock 08 comp. ATF works best for the clutch but I'm not going to do that to my compensator. I wonder if the baker will take atf? Its going to be either the Spectro or belray I was just wondering if maybe the 75w may sling a little better than the 80w. I realize there's not much of a difference there but it seems with these comps every little bit of oil helps. Bandit says to absolutely not use HD fluids in the primary

Baker is recommending 32 oz of Spectro Heavy Duty Primary Chaincase oil or HD Form +.

Seems like all the compensator makers want normal chaincase oil while all the clutch makers want ATF.....I think Barnett is the exception on the clutch.

Yes, Barnett lets you use whatever you want pretty much, except for formula +. They say it will gum up and cause drag and Spectro is OK too. They recommended I use Redline Primary oil......it's synthetic, so I was in! I think a lot has to do with the Barnett Scorpion being a carbon fiber material clutch, whereas others are Kevlar. Can't wait to test it out.

Evolution Industries Diamond Terminator allows formula + and Spectro.

I think I'll go with whatever I can find first. Looks like spectro and bel ray are pretty similar. Thanks guys

80W90 or better... like 75W140.
