Tranny clatter-Self adjuster, compensator? 2013 Street/G
My Street Glide Just hit 12K. The clatter that the bike is putting out starts at low RPM when taking off in 1st. If I take off at a higher RPM the clatter noise is gone. I took my Glide to a bike shop ( not a Harley Dealer) that I have business in the past. He has always given me a fair price on labor. The owner took the bike out and duplicated the clatter. From his assessment, he suspects the compensator or the self adjuster may be the culprit. He need to take the cover off to get a better picture of what may be the problem. I NEED HELP OUT THERE. Has anyone had or know someone who has had this clatter
noise. Any Help would be appreciated....Thanks

Help!
I have a 2009 Street Glide with 54,000 miles. It has a "clatter" that only seems to happen when it's under a load and varies @ between 3000 - 4000 RPMs. Brought it to the dealer on Friday. 3 different techs road it. 2 didn't know what it was and the 3rd one said compensator. They replaced the compensator and the inner primary bearing. They said everything else looks good in there Spent the money and it still has the same noise. What else could it be? We are totally baffled!
