Default Primary Chain

Thinking about changing out the stock adjuster for bakers attitude adjustment chain adjuster. Now for advice do you really have to pull the compensating sprocket and chain out to get the new adjuster in there? 2012 Road Glide still stock except for cosmetics and comfort. Might swap out header pipe this year to beat the heat.

Please, please, pull the comp before installing. I don't want to see another broken one because someone tried to "pry" it in. Thank you for your consideration of our product and enjoy your weekend. Back to you Pilot.

Just got THE call two days ago, just trying to decide if I grab a Barnett clutch to go in at the same time...looking forward to a sturdy well designed comp!

I have done more reading on this subject and wondering are there any specialty tools needed for this fix and what are the torque values for compensator bolt. 2012 Road Glide

If you don't have one a factory service manual will be your friend in preparing and doing this job! There are also on-line videos that will help.

If you are using the SE Comp you will need a T-70 Torx socket to remove it and a torque wrench capable of final torque rating of 170 ft/lbs. You will also need either the primary locking tool or some have used a block of wood. Lastly if you remove the clutch you will need a 1 3/16 (confirm) socket to remove the clutch nut which is a left hand thread.

I can tell you from experience that at least on a '15 Limited Low, you do not have to remove, or even loosen the clutch.
