Default Drive train lash

New to this forum.
I have a 2014 Road King. I got about 2500 miles on it now. Beautiful bike but the drive train has tons of backlash especially when hot. The dealer says its normal. Same kind of answer you get ever since my first Harley in 1973. My 79 FXE has a better drive train than this thing....
It seems to be from a loose primary chain or just a bad transmission.
Does anyone have any comments or ideas??

IMO - The newer bikes with the automatic primary chain adjuster leaves the primary chain looser than I adjust the old mechanical adjuster shoe.

I think some guys run 75-90 gear oil but thats not a fix,,, its a band-aid.

Do you mean like if you have the wheel off the ground and the slop you feel at the rear tire?

Yeah, pretty much.
More like when your cruising along slow at a steady speed and it jerks back and forth. You have to be on the throttle of off for it to not do it.

Compensator will do that. Pretty normal these days with the new comps. Is it right? No but a lot of bikes do it. I went with an aftermarket comp and mine stopped slapping at low speeds.
