Default pulsating clutch lever

I have a 2007 street bob
I have a pulsating clutch lever and noise from the clutch and maybe the inspection clutch door on the exhaust side. When the bike is not running the clutch lever has a bit to much slack but not enough to cause problems.
I adjusted the clutch and the cable by the book and to spec. But still have the lever issue and noise. When i ride the bike when i apply throttle the lever gains slack and when i let off the slack snaps back tight.
Any ideas?

It's axial thrust from the helical cut gears push the shafts away from each other and when the mainshaft moves so does the clutch. Here check this out:

But what it broken? That plate? It never did that before? Did the bearings go bad?

Nothing may have broke, it's just wear, the snap rings are not sufficient to hold the shafts in place and the more the shafts move the weaker the snap rings get.

The gear set has to come out, and the street door retains the bearings with a steel plate as opposed to snap rings to keep the shafts from moving.
