Does anyone know how much chain slack or deflection there should be in the primary drive chain for a 2009 Street Glide? I have the manual and there is no measurement because it has an automatic adjuster. I am just trying to eliminate problems as I track down a vibration. I thought it was the compensator but I looked at it last night and I dont believe that is the problem. Thanks.

 

I'm guessing with an automatic adjuster the deflection would be zero?

The one in my '15 Limited Low was tight as a bow string.

 

you can loosen it and then take it for a ride and it will adjust itself. the best thing to do is throw it away and install a baker attitude manual adjuster, set it, forget it !

 

It should be 5/8 to 7/8 deflection cold at the tightest spot.
