Had the belt pop on a ride. Got all parts etc. put everything on after a short ride to check everything out I noticed a lil rubber dust on the primary cover held it in place then noticed the belt rubbed in two places. I cut out a bit of aluminum to make clearance.

Has anyone had such an issue with a BDL closed primary drive on a 1340 evo ?

 

Was rubbing here as well. You can now see the clearance. The belt that popped had a hard rub mark on the outside of the belt I'm assuming the rubbing lead to the belt breaking?

 

Sounds like you need to realign your motor and trans. Then check spacing. Their should be a gap (small) between the belt and pulleys. The bigger space is typical between the motor and belt

 

I took it for a ride after trimming back the aluminum on the case. The belt was in the same position it didn't move there is probably 3/32nds space between the starter gear and the belt and on the front pulley maybe 1/8th to the front edge. The position has held firm. The position it's in now it clearly would have been rubbing had I not cut it back.
