Belt change trouble

07 Ultra Classic, changing belt cause it got tore up somehow..........swing arm bolt/Trans bolt won't go out the RIGHT side.........got the left side bolt off........trying to move it out the right side so I can try to wiggle the belt in without taking the whole thing off.....

That bolt moves about 1/4" and then wont go anymore.....
Now, the manual says take it out the left side but I don't want to do that because it all comes apart then........dont see why it wont go out the right......

Any thoughts?

on my 2005 I took it out the right,, put a jack to support the rear of trans ,, and a lil bottle jack to manuver the swingarm a bit,, silly ??? but you have the cap,(bracket) removed don't you

remove the center button cap first and see if it will come out then,, if not you have to remove the rear foot boards and muffler to get the bracket out of the way,,, at least I had to

I don't see what advantage you will have by not removing the swingarm as per the book? It ain't difficult, having got this far! If this is the first time your bike has been dismantled there is likely to be corrosion plus a lot of road dirt in that area, so best to strip fully and clean everything up before reassembly IMHO.
