Default Gear change

I want to gear a 2011 Roadglide Ultra lower for more grunt off the line. Any ideas, besides changing primary pulley? Rick.

There isn't much scope for doing that, unfortunately. There are no compensators available that I know of and the 49T clutch basket is darned expensive, which takes us to the rear belt drive. You can swap the 32T front pulley for a 30T, which is the smallest available and gives a 6% reduction in overall gearing. I'm told the stock belt will work with that (I hope so as I'm doing that myself!).

Mixed reports on whether or not the OEM belt will work with the 30T; let us know if it works or not.

If you go to a 30/70 for the secondary drive you should be able to use the original belt and your ratio will go to a 3.15 overall. they say for every tooth on the trans pulley you can change the rear pulley 2 to maintain the original belt.

Edited because i first thought the rear pulley was a 66 but is a 68. However you can still do the 30/70 without changing the belt...You'll be going from a 2.87 to a 3.15 overall. Real nice change and still good for cruising if you have a 6 speed that would be a 2.71 in 6th

What kind of rider are you? Will you miss the little bit of top end and mileage with a ratio change of any type?

I know that this is the transmission and drivetrain section, but what about a set of cams to help get a bit more low end power?

what else is done to your bike?
